JENNIFER THERMES is an award-winning author and illustrator of books for children and a map illustrator. She is fascinated by ideas that span history, adventure, and the natural world. Her books include The Indestructible Tom Crean, a 2024 Bank Street College of Education’s Flora Stieglitz Straus Award winner, A Place Called America, named a Kirkus Best Picture Book for 2023, and Manhattan: Mapping the Story of an Island, a 2020 NCTE Orbis Pictus Honor Book. Jennifer grew up in New York, and received her BFA in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design. These days she creates books, watches birds, gardens, and enjoys time with her kids and cats at home in New Hampshire.
